Merino-X ExplainedUpdated a month ago

Merino X is First Lite’s answer to the demands of serious hunters who need their gear to perform day after day, season after season. It starts with a premium blend: 95% merino wool and 5% spandex. Why? Because we wanted to take everything you already love about merino—and make it last longer, perform better, and hold its shape no matter what you throw at it.

At the top level, merino wool is unbeatable for natural odor resistance. You can wear it for a week straight and still not offend your hunting partners. It’s dead quiet—no shine, no noise—and it regulates your body temperature like nothing else out there, keeping you warm and comfortable even when wet.

For cold-weather pieces, we use a heavier interlock knit, which increases loft—essentially trapping more dead air to insulate you better. The challenge? That loft comes from a looser knit, which can lose structure over time.

That’s where the spandex comes in. By blending in just the right amount, Merino X keeps its shape, day after day in the field. Sleeves don’t sag. Hems don’t bag out. And after a wash, everything rebounds to form like it’s fresh off the rack.

What you get is a superior warmth-to-weight ratio in a garment that’s built to last. Whether you’re glassing ridgelines or grinding it out in a tree stand, Merino X is your cold-weather workhorse—quiet, durable, and dialed for performance over the long haul.
