Hunting has been the driving force behind every major step in my life. Growing up in Starkville, Mississippi, I picked up my first shotgun at the age of 7, hunting whitetails up until the time I went off to serve in the United States Army as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. After four years in the military, I let my passion for hunting guide my next moves. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University while managing white-tailed deer and turkey properties, then headed to graduate school at New Mexico State University, for the hunting opportunities around the Gila Wildlife Area. Now, as a Customer Support and Gear Specialist with MeatEater, Phelps Game Calls, First Lite, and FHF Gear, I’m ready to help hunters gear up and get out in the field!
I started my hunting journey chasing white-tailed deer, turkey, rabbit, gator, squirrel, and hogs across Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida. After the military, I decided to challenge myself even further, taking on the rugged and strenuous pursuit of elk in Colorado. That challenge then quickly evolved into chasing any animal I could get a tag for, whether it’s mule deer, elk, or any other species. While I have plenty of experience in the field, I’m always looking to refine my skills, from perfecting my spot-and-stalk ability to honing in my duck calling.
My expertise lies in hunting white-tailed deer, turkey, mule deer, and elk, both from a strategic standpoint and a gear perspective. Managing hunting properties has given me firsthand knowledge of habitat management and game behavior, while the experience I've gained over 22 years of hunting have taught me the ins and outs of choosing the right layering systems for multi-day hunts. Whether you need advice on selecting the right camo pattern for your environment, layering for changing weather, picking the right calls to bring in a pressured Tom or behemoth bull, or dialing in your setup for backcountry hunts, I can help.
If you're looking for guidance on gear, hunting style, tactics, or just want to chat about your next hunt, don’t hesitate to reach out. Whether you're a veteran hunter fine-tuning your system or someone just starting out, I’m here to make sure you’re fully prepared for whatever the hunt throws at you.
If you would like to chat about any upcoming hunts or gear questions please reach out to me at [email protected] or give me a call at 208-726-7140.
